Argos, an independent European private equity firm, has closed its Mid-Market IX fund at €736 million.
The fund is 64% larger than its €450 million predecessor and 23% above its €600 million target.
Approximately 90% of institutional investors in the previous vintage re-upped, while 44% of the capital came from new LPs.
By geography, 73% of commitments came from Europe, 19% from North America and 8% from Asia-Pacific.
The fund targets mainly majority positions in European companies with EBITDA of €10 million to €30 million and typically invests €30 million to €100 million of equity per transaction.
Its first investment, completed in July 2026, was the acquisition of STAR7, which was previously listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
