Hong Kong-based investment firm BPEA EQT has acquired a 60% stake in Indian fertility services provider Indira IVF for 54 billion rupees (US$657 million). The deal values Indira IVF at US$1.1 billion.
Indira IVF is India’s largest fertility clinic chain, with over 110 centers across the country. The company was founded in 1998 by Dr. Indira Hinduja and Dr. Aniruddha Hinduja.

BPEA EQT said that it plans to invest in Indira IVF to expand its reach across India and to develop new technologies to improve the success rates of IVF treatments.

The acquisition of Indira IVF is the latest in a series of investments by BPEA EQT in the healthcare sector. In 2021, the firm acquired a majority stake in Singapore-based healthcare technology company MClinica.
The deal is also a sign of the growing interest in the Indian fertility market. The market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 15% over the next five years, driven by rising awareness about infertility and the increasing availability of affordable IVF treatments.
