Carlyle Group Inc., a global investment firm, announced on Tuesday that it has appointed firm veteran John Redett as its new chief financial officer. Redett will take over from Curt Buser on October 1, 2023. Buser will retire at the end of the year after being finance chief at Carlyle since 2014.
Redett has been with Carlyle for 16 years and currently leads the firm’s global financial services. He previously worked for U.S. banking giants Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan. In his new role, Redett will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial operations and reporting, as well as its corporate strategy.

The appointment of Redett as CFO is the first major appointment under Schwartz’s leadership. Schwartz took over as CEO of Carlyle in January 2023.
Carlyle is a global investment firm with over $325 billion in assets under management. The firm invests in a variety of asset classes, including private equity, real estate, and credit.
