Cardinal Invests £30m in Uform Kitchens

Dublin-based investment group Cardinal Capital has acquired a majority stake in Uform, a Northern Ireland-based manufacturer of kitchen doors and furniture, for around €30m.

Cardinal Ireland Partners, a fund managed by Cardinal, will use the investment to boost operating capacity at Uform’s Toomebridge Antrim facilities and a plant in Donegal run by its sister company Andoras, which trades as Aishling Furniture.

The group currently employs 415 staff.

Uform makes approximately 1,500 kitchens per week for the UK and Irish markets and is growing at around 40% annually. Its sales in the year to April 2021 were approximately £44m, with Ebitda of £4.9m. The company’s co-founders, Eamon and Paul Donnelly, will remain onboard as significant shareholders. The deal is subject to clearance from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
